A Happy Christmas greeting!

Hey, Everyone, be sure to stop by Pachamama on Canyon Road this season for some Latin holiday fun! Here is their card that I created (along with inspiration from Janice St. Marie). Janice found a crazy hat that makes up the tree. This I decorated with photographed sequins and red bows; layered it all in Photoshop against an antique textured card.
Click to enlarge and see the merrymaking Pachamama people (and doggie) faces on the old cards. Whee!

Ah, I can hear the islands calling - the fragrance of exotic flowers, the feel of ocean water filling the air.

Barkin' Ball illustration

My new illustration for the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Association's annual Barkin' Ball. A big affair! I also do the decor for the ball which is held every year at the convention center. This year the Western theme related to old time Western movies.

Angel with harp illustration

My two page illustration for a magazine article about a woman (angel) playing a harp sending out healing energy to a hospital patient. The magazine art director will place a title on top left and begin the article on bottom right. Had fun doing it.

Belly Dancer

I'm getting a bit ornate on this one using a hand-stamped, patterned background for the illustration of a local belly dancer I photographed at the Renaissance Faire. Then I added a story line... sort of an excuse for what's going on here.

New Steampunk Adventure!

Here is a piece promoting the CD of the latest Steampunk story from ZBS.
I illustrated it using a collage of old photos, layers of textures and the super robot woman who has arms of living trees. I created her in Illustrator using the mesh technique. What fun. (Click on it to enlarge) Go to zbs.org to order your copy with a full cast of actors and original music and sounds. Wow!

ArtFeast 2011

Here they are... Mary Poppins, Bert and the stars of Chicago at my two favorite galleries on Canyon Road... Mary Poppins at Giacobbe Fritz Fine Art and Chicago at GF Contemporary. A wonderful evening of fun and music.

Took some publicity photos yesterday. It'll be lots of fun.

jayebook - Dave started it!

Dave sent this card with a lovely interview with my ultra-successful fantasy self. I never could have imagined her myself. But sometimes cats are real inspiration!

So this is my response to his card:
(hey, it could happen)

Year of the Rabbit!

Happy Chinese New Year of the Rabbit, everyone!
Because the Zodiac's Rabbits's are kind, loving, nimble, clever, good at avoiding harm to themselves and they dislike any hostile act, it should bring in a year of peace.

My home altar for the New Year!
